You’re already binge watching Friends in isolation and eating more snacks, so you might as well tuck into the actual recipe for Ross’ famous Moist Maker sandwich as there’s an official Friends cookbook out.

Forget just having the Joey special of two pizzas while watching Friends, as you can now make heaps of mouthwatering, iconic recipes from the ’90s sitcom. You’ll be able to tuck into Ross’ Moist Maker, or Rachel’s mess of a trifle, or even Phoebe’s Grandmother’s cookies.

The new cookbook is titled Friends: The Official Cookbook and written by Amanda Yee. It’s set to release on September 22nd, so you have plenty of time to rewatch the series prior to whipping up these recipes, and build your anticipation for The One Where They Reunite, which has been delayed due to COVID-19.

“It’s going to be the first time the six of us are on that couch on the original set that is being rebuilt and on our soundstage where we shot for 10 your years, so it’s going to be quite something for us to reunite and be in that environment for the first time together,” David Schwimmer (Ross) detailed to E! News.

So, if you’re just as excited for both the reunion and the cook book, keep a-scrollin’ to find out how to make your own Moist Maker from Ross’ recipe from season five, episode nine titled The One With Ross’ Sandwich.

Chock full of all the leftover Thanksgiving staples, the sandwich boasts turkey, stuffing, gravy, and even cranberry sauce to make the perfectly moist sandwich. Unfortunately for Ross, someone in the episode ate half of his sandwich, and then threw out the other half, causing Ross to revolt.

Moist Maker Sandwich Recipe – made famous by Friends character Ross Geller

Ingredients:

  • 3 slices of sandwich bread
  • Mayonnaise (optional)
  • 2 pieces romaine lettuce
  • 1/4 cup gravy
  • 1/2 cup leftover turkey or deli-style slices
  • 1/4 cup canned cranberry sauce (you can also recreate the books “Chandberry” sauce)
  •  1/4 cup cornbread stuffing
  • Salt and pepper
Method:
  1. Lay out a slice of bread. If using mayonnaise, spread an even layer over the slice of bread then top with a leaf or two of lettuce, then half the turkey, followed by half of the stuffing.
  2. Pour the leftover gravy into a shallow dish. Dip a second slice of bread into the gravy and turn to coat. Top the stuffing with this moist maker slice.
  3. Add another layer of lettuce, the remaining turkey, cranberry sauce, and top with the rest of the stuffing and the final slice of bread. Use a large toothpick to hold everything together.
