Apparently this Friday, November 6th, it’s National Nachos Day and Guzman y Gomez will be offering a twofer on all mini and regular size 2 for 1 on all mini and regular size nachos. 

I’m not going to bother unpacking the genesis of this very real holiday. I am but a mere messenger, here to tell you that for one splendid day you’ll be able to celebrate capitalism’s latest holiday by scoffing down on two servings of Guzman’s nachos.

It’s Friday, you’ve just spent your entire week slogging it away under fluorescent office lights. You’re feeling depleted. You’re beginning to spiral. You don’t know what the point of anything is anymore. You’ve already decided not to go to the gym this evening.

I don’t think that nachos will remedy any existential dread. It won’t alleviate the pains of capitalism. I just think that at this point, you’ve had a long-lunch beer with your colleagues, you may as well commit to a total act of self-annihilation and eat two servings of nachos to yourself. You’ve got nothing to lose.
