Jared Leto has said that he was “teargassed” at the recent Italian COVID-19 pass protest in Rome.
The protest against the Italian government’s drive to make the COVID-19 Green Pass mandatory for all workers took place on Saturday, October 9th.
And Leto found himself getting caught up in all the chaos, as per Metro. When violence erupted between the police and protestors, Leto got caught in the heart of it.
The Hollywood actor still managed to find time to film the action, documenting it on his Instagram Story. “Got caught in a protest in Italy,” he wrote. “From what I gather it was about vaccine mandates/green pass.” In another slide he revealed, “Got teargassed then called it a night.”
One eagle-eyed fan was quick enough to catch Leto’s story and posted it on Twitter.

The Thirty Seconds to Mars singer plays Paolo, son of the iconic fashion house’s former head Aldo Gucci (played by Al Pacino). Fans were shocked when Leto shared a first teasing look at his character back in July, with the actor almost unrecognisable under a bald cap, fat suit, and facial prosthetics.
Not everyone is excited about the film though, with the actual Gucci family heavily criticising the project. Patrizia Gucci, a descendant of the fashion house’s founding father Guccio Gucci shared her frustration. “We are truly disappointed. I speak on behalf of the family,” she said.
‘They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system….Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything. but there is a borderline that cannot be crossed.”
