Love Island stars Tina and Mitch have been on-again, off-again for sometime now, but the couple say they’re done for good.

At this point, we’ve all had more than healthy doses of Tina and Mitch’s tumultuous relationship on Love Island and beyond. The couple went on to win the show in 2021, but separated in 2022.

Soon after, they found themselves embroiled in a love triangle with fellow co-star Emily Ward, who claimed she hooked up with Mitch… with Tina’s blessing, allegedly. More recently, the couple hinted they were rekindling their romance when they turned up on the show again. So, yeah, it’s been a lot.

Not anymore, however. According to statements released by both Tina and Mitch, they say they’re done for good.

Mitch took to Instagram to put the brakes on the rumour mill around their relationship. “As you all know the show this year was pre recorded and currently both Tina and I are not dating,” he said, before clarifying that the couple ‘continued to see each other for multiple months’ after they came back from Spain.

They would fly back and forth to see each other, which Mitch claimed put a lot of pressure on them, in addition to the fact that their relationship needed to be on the down-low since the show hadn’t aired yet.

“Tina and I are just friends, and after everything we have experienced together, it is nice to be in each other’s lives in some capacity.” Mitch wrote, adding: “I didn’t feel that right now Tina could get my 110%. And because of that we made the mature and right decision to go our separate ways.”

In her own Instagram story, Tina echoed his sentiments. Revealing that it was Mitch who initiated the break-up, Tina said: “Towards the end, Mitch made it known that he wasn’t in a place where he could be a good partner in a relationship, to which I agreed and told him I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with how he was being either.”

“It was disappointing but ultimately the best decision for both of us as it felt like history was repeating itself.” Tina added. “I wasn’t getting what I needed from a partner and I wouldn’t want to hold either of us back from living our lives.”
