Machine Gun Kelly really is inescapable these days and now the singer is set to play a major part in the upcoming WWE 2K22 video game.
The rapper-turned-pop punk star has signed on to executive produce the game’s soundtrack but that’s not the interesting part – he’s also going to be a playable character within the game itself.
MGK’s curated soundtrack is actually pretty good, featuring songs by big artists like Wu-Tang Clan, Motörhead, Royal Blood, Bring Me the Horizon, The Weeknd, and Turnstile. Two of his own songs, ‘Concert for Aliens’ and ‘Body Bag’ (featuring Yungblud and The Used’s Bert McCracken) are also included.
He’ll then be available as a playable character within the game itself in a future downloadable content pack, so you can get your revenge in the ring if you’re really jealous that he gets to marry Megan Fox (or you’re a huge Eminem fan).
“Machine Gun Kelly has been an integral part of the WWE family for more than a decade including performances at WrestleMania and Tribute to the Troops, soundtracking our premium live events with his music, and making frequent storyline appearances on WWE programming over the years,” Neil Lawi, Senior Vice President and General Manager, WWE Music Group, said.
“He has curated a unique soundtrack for WWE 2K22 that includes not only his own music but a diverse array of artists from The Weeknd to KennyHoopla. The 12-track soundtrack is the perfect complement to this edition’s enhanced gameplay.”
MGK is lucky that he’s featuring in WWE 2K22 because he’s not likely to be accepted into a basketball video game anytime soon: he recently took part in the NBA All-Star Weekend, and his hoop skills left a lot to be desired.
