Harrison Boon has been cast as a groom for the upcoming season of MAFS, however, the 32-year-old reportedly got the gig after originally auditioning to be on The Bachelor.
So Dramatic! reports that Harrison was actually supposed to be the lead suitor on The Bachelor, but was passed over because he was “too masculine”.
“Harrison was cast for The Bachelor this year, but they said he was too masculine, so was dropped at the last minute,” a source told the publication.
The insider told the publication that production thought he “he would be good for MAFS“ so they “put him forward” for the show.
Harrison is set to be involved in the ‘biggest ever scandal’ on Married at First Sight. The scandal in question sees one of the brides discover that her TV groom hooked up with another woman hours before walking down the aisle.
It’s been revealed that the scorned woman is Perth influencer Bronte Schofield and the playboy is Sydney construction manager and topless waiter Harrison Boon. Which makes the unhappy pair the first official couple for MAFS 2023.
Harrison was exposed after Bronte’s maid-of-honour Jessica Tomlinson (who’s set to star on the upcoming season of The Bachelor) recognised him because he had been hooking up with one of her The Bachelor co-stars.

While the mystery woman’s identity hasn’t been revealed – except for the fact that she will be on The Bachelor – a source close to her told So Dramatic! that she’d been seeing Harrison right up until the time he headed off to film the show.
“She saw him the day he left to go on the show,” the source explained.
Before heading off to film MAFS, Harrison reportedly told the woman that “he would message her and try and see her on weekends off.”
However, they added: “I think producers might have scared him saying you can not talk to anyone.”
“He said he couldn’t see her anymore the night after the wedding and blocked her on Instagram.”
Married at First Sight season 10 will premiere on Monday, January 30 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
