“As soon as I saw what Channing, Reid, and the Magic Mike choreographic team did with the live show … Mike Lane’s dream of connecting people through dance must be realized,” Soderbergh told Deadline.
Tatum also shared his excitement about returning to the series. “There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of Magic Mike … The stripperverse will never be the same.” He called it the ‘stripperverse’, which is enough reason to make another ten Magic Mike movies.
It’s unclear when filming for Magic Mike’s Last Dance will start or when it will arrive on HBO Max. Don’t worry though, the new reality competition Finding Magic Mike is here to tide you over until then. The HBO Max series follows 10 men who have “lost their magic” as they learn to perform dance routines, with the winner being given the chance to perform in the stage show in Las Vegas.
