Ignore your lactose intolerance, put the diet back for a few months, because Mars and Snickers ice cream tubs are a legit thing now.

Coles is the place to head to find the enticing treats. And at only $10 a tub, the price might be even more appealing than the product. Both tubs are 460ml, so enough for a few sittings normally or one sitting if you’re having a particularly crappy day.

The Mars ice cream tub features creamy malt chocolate and caramel fudge, while the Snickers ice cream tub is where to go for crunchy peanut, salted caramel flavour, and chocolate twirls.

And if a tub sounds like just a little too much though, don’t worry: smaller ice cream bar versions of both Mars and Snickers are also available, for a special lower price of $5.

These tubs have actually been a delicious thing in the U.S. and U.K. for a while and as an expat, I can vouch for the quality of them. And with the perennially rubbish weather over in the U.K., really Australia needed Mars and Snickers ice cream tubs more.

Food Finds, a Geelong-based snack reviewer on Instagram, already have their views in on the products and they’re very positive. They gave the Snickers ice cream tub 8/10, praising the amount of filling and the swirl of flavours, and saying that it generally tasted like a proper Snickers.

Although the Mars ice cream tub was given a lower score of 6/10, they loved the caramel sauce and the chewy caramel fudge pieces but wished the malt chocolate wasn’t so prominent in the flavour.

You’ll just have to head down to Coles this weekend and decide if they’re right or wrong with their reviews. They’ve arrived just in time for the heat of summer as well so it might be the moment to stock up.
