It’s been a rollercoaster morning for cinephiles today. First, we found out that The Matrix 4 is going to be a thing, then we found out Spider-Man in the MCU may longer be a thing. Then, crashing through the commotion caused by those two events came details surrounding the forthcoming and 25th James Bond film.
Not only do we now know the title of the film, No Time To Die, we also have plenty more intel to add texture to the forthcoming flick. Here’s what we know about the film thus far.
The Title
Let’s start with the title. The 25th James Bond joint will be titled No Time To Die. James Bond film titles tend to come from the mind of the series mastermind, Ian Fleming.
Quantum Of Solace, for example, paid homage to a short story from Fleming’s 1960 anthology For Your Eyes Only. Perhaps No Time To Die is more of a meta title; making it clear to the public that the Bond IP isn’t going anywhere.
Behind The Camera
We know that No Time To Die will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. Fukunaga directed the first season of True Detective, scoring an Emmy for his work. He also directed the war epic Beasts Of No Nation and the gut wrenching Cartel thriller, Sin Nombre.
Helping Fukunaga bring No Time To Die to life are writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade who were behind Spectre and Skyfall, Scott Z. Burns who wrote The Bourne Ultimatum and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the genius behind Fleabag.
In Front Of The Camera
A who’s-who list of actors have also been attached to the film including Oscar-Winning Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, who is anticipated to don the 007 mantle. Billy Magnussen will be stepping into the franchise following his role in 2019’s Aladdin, while Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright has also been confirmed.

Daniel Craig, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes are also confirmed to reprise their roles as Bond, Q, Moneypenny and M respectively.
The Story
We also have a rough outline of the plot for No Time To Die. It appears the film will find a retired and relaxed Bond pulled from the comfort of non-active duty to help a CIA colleague rescue a kidnapped scientist, no doubt with sexy results.
The Australian Release date
And last but not least, we know the release date. No Time To Die will be released in Australia come April 9, 2020 shortly after it drops in the Northern Hemisphere.
It’s now time we wait with bated breath for the first official trailer. Any… minute… now… surely.
