Go to composer for the ‘Star Wars’ animated universe, Kevin Kiner, has just teased a “very special” animated project is in the works.

With The Book of Boba Fett recently coming to a close and Obi-Wan Kenobi coming to Disney+ on May 25th, Star Wars fans are getting more content than ever before. While there isn’t much on the way in the order of new movies on the level of the Skywalker Saga, Lucasfilm and Disney are slowly but surely building out an array of series both animated and live-action.

Star Wars‘ most recent foray into animation Star Wars: Visions saw the dream crossover many fans were hoping for between the galaxy far, far away and anime. The series was a critical success and let the Japanese animation studios have the freedom to do whatever they wanted in their respective episodes.

Throughout the past few years, we’ve seen Lucasfilm start to bring animated characters into live-action, with Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian Season 2; and live-action characters into animation, with Fennec Shand appearing in Star Wars: The Bad Batch. It appears that the universe is continuing to expand and animation is here to stay.

As far as established animated projects, The Bad Batch Season 2 is still waiting in limbo. Now, thanks to composer Kevin Kiner, who worked on The Clone Wars movie in 2008, The Clone Wars series, Star Wars Rebels, and The Bad Batch, has teased a brand new project in the works.

While in an interview with The Convor Call, Kiner teased the new project and its grand approach to musical composition.

“You know, we are working on a new project. It’s an animated project. It’s a Star Wars project. And that’s all we can say. It’s really, really frikkin’ great… To the point where Lucasfilm and Disney are giving us full orchestra for every episode… It’s a very special project, some great, great people are involved, and we’re really privileged to be part of that one. And I probably said too much already.”

While there are no details on what this series would be about, hopes are high that it could be a Darth Maul series. With the mention of a full orchestra in every episode, we can’t help but think about the iconic Duel of the Fates score from Phantom Menace. At the same time, something completely new would be refreshing. Only time will tell what this series will hold.
