Remember the days of black eyeliner and skinny jeans and carrying around actual Walkmans? And what about the age of CDs? Be prepared for a whole lot of nostalgia because here’s nine of our favourite ’90s/’00s pop-punk music videos that soundtracked a generation.
Oh, and if you don’t already feel old, you probably will by the time you’ve finished watching them all.

1. Fountains Of Wayne – ‘Stacy’s Mom’ (2003)
Ah, Stacy’s mom. The oh-so-familiar story of a pre-teen boy falling for his girlfriend’s smoking hot mother (played by Kiwi supermodel Rachel Hunter, no less) right under her nose. Totally not awkward, right?
–
2. Avril Lavigne – ‘Sk8er Boi’ (2002)
Need we say more? If there’s one song/video we all remember from our preteen years, it’s ‘Sk8er Boi’. The hair, the sideways cap, the tie, the eyeliner… all so iconic.
–
3. Wheatus – ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ (2000)
Who else remembers singing along to this at the top of their lungs? And that bucket hat! You can’t have a list of memorable pop-punk videos without at least one set in a high school.
–
4. Green Day – ‘Basket Case’ (1994)
Green Day’s gotta be in here somewhere, of course. That fluoro clour scheme is so damn ’90s, it might as well be wearing a skinny tie and drainpipe jeans… oh wait.
–
5. Josie and The Pussycats – ‘Three Small Words’ (2001)
Is this not the most ’90s/’00s thing you’ve ever heard? I mean, the band may not be real (that’s Tara Reid on the drums, for God’s sake), but what a jam!
–
6. Good Charlotte – ‘I Just Wanna Live’ (2004)
The vegetable costumes and the hair. That is all.
–
7. Simple Plan – ‘Welcome To My Life’ (2004)
If you were a teenager during the 2000s, you pretty much had a Simple Plan phase by default. I mean, this song has the whole teen angst thing down to a fine art. Also, what’s more pop-punk that stopping traffic?
–
8. Hoobastank – ‘The Reason’ (2003)
This was definitely at the top of the list of songs most commonly sung dramatically (and terribly) into hairbrushes everwhere during the ’00s. And somehow everyone knew all the words no matter how many times they’d heard it.
–
9. Blink-182 – ‘What’s My Age Again?’ (1999)
Who could possibly forget Blink-182 running naked down the streets of LA and meeting a porn star? This video is pretty much synonymous with the band and the whole “screw the world, let’s have fun” mentality of the scene. Blink-182 remade the clip with actor Adam Devine earlier this year for their song ‘She’s Out Of Her Mind.’
