Anybody who’s walked through a Coles or Woolies aisle in the last week would be able to tell you, Christmas – that’s old news, man. Santa’s just a reflection of the rear-view mirror of the last decade. But Easter – oh that’s just around the corner. And while if you’re anything like us and have already thrown your new fitness regime straight out the window thanks to a trolley load of hot cross buns, Cadbury is here to lure you away from that doughy devil with their brand new Cadbury Caramilk Easter Eggs.
Yes, you read that correctly. Caramilk. Eggs. For those out of the loop, Caramilk is the stuff of confectionery legend – its wonderful recipe of caramelised white chocolate winning the hearts and minds of choccie lovers across the country… until it was discontinued in 1994.
Over the last few years, though, the tasty treat has seen something of a resurgence, with multiple chocolate block releases, an arguably odd crossover with Philly Cheese and even the recently announced Caramilk Twirl combo.
What we’re trying to say is that people go completely batshit over this stuff.
So then believe us then when we tell you that these packets of bite sized eggs will be no different and are bound to be a hot-ticket item this Easter, especially considering this format has never been done before.
According to Cadbury, you’ll be able to pick up 110g bags of the Caramilk Easter Eggs for $4.69 in Big W, Kmart, Target and other independent retailers or $8 flat for the larger 230g packs in Coles and Woolworths nationally from February.
That said, some stores may already have them out and about as we speak. Does that mean you should fuel up the car and stalk all your local supermarkets? You do you. We don’t judge.
