Just when you thought this season of Big Brother Australia couldn’t get any wilder, Sam Manovski allegedly used to be in a cult.

As per the So Dramatic! podcast, a former mate of Sam’s has revealed that she used to be in a cult before entering the BB house. “Sam joined a weird cult a couple of years ago (in 2020) and stopped talking to her family because she thought the cult could make her achieve a higher ascension,” the source claimed.

According to the former friend, the cult in question made poor Sam “abstain from sex” and “cut her family off.” They added that BB producers were “worried” about this news making it to the public and covered it up as a result, with Sam also asked not to mention it in the house.

“It was a massive red flag for them, but they took the risk it wouldn’t come out and made her wipe all evidence of it from her socials,” the source said. Lucky it didn’t come out until after she was booted out of the show then I suppose.

While this is clearly a juicy story, the truth sadly doesn’t seem to be stranger than fiction. “Yeah I wasn’t in a ‘cult’,” Sam insisted to So Dramatic!, explaining that the term ‘cult’ was just the best way to “describe an experience I had with an online Facebook group that got a little culty.” We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Haven’t we? “It was business advice stuff. Nothing exciting,” she added.

There have been claims about Sam on Big Brother Australia all over the place recently. An insider claimed that Sam “used” Josh to get on the show, as she already knew Drew, and had a “massive” crush on him. She even supposedly had even given him her number in the past.
