The new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer brings the return of our favourite villains from the Sony movies, but there’s still no sign of our OG Spider-Men.

The second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home was just released today and to many fans’ dismay, there is still no sign of Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield.

To undo the chaos that befalls Peter Parker (Tom Holland, not any of the other guys) after his identity as Spider-Man is revealed at the end of 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter seeks the help of Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). But is indeciveness instead cracks a hole in the multiverse and unleashes an ensemble of villains from previous Spider-Man franchises.

This cast includes Willem Defoe’s Green Goblin from 2002’s Spider-Man, Alfred Molina’s Otto Octavius from 2004’s Spider-Man 2, Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman from 2007’s Spider-Man 3, Rhys Ifans’ Lizard from 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and Jamie Foxx’s Electro from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

With all of these villains showing up in the MCU’s iteration of the Spider-Man movies, fans are expecting the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parkers to show up and help Tom-Peter save the day. But while today’s trailer confirms that Molina’s Doc Ock doesn’t consider Tom-Peter to be the real Peter Parker, there was no Tobey-Peter or Andrew-Peter to be seen.

Marvel Studios is gearing up for the next era of Spider-Man with an animated original series called Spider-Man: Freshman Year being revealed earlier this month on November 12th. There is no official release date as of yet, but the series is set to explore Peter Parker’s early adventures before the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in theatres only in Australia on December 16th.
