The critically acclaimed Lion will open the 2017 season.
The St. George OpenAir Cinema will open for the summer on Saturday January 7 with Lion, which won massive acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival. Starring Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman and Rooney Mara, Lion is directed by Emmy-nominated Australian filmmaker Garth Davis and tells the true story of a lost boy adopted in Kolkata, and taken over to Australia. Years later, he heads back to India to find his family.
The full program will be released on Monday December 5, and the cinema will run until Friday February 17. Gates will open at 6.15pm at Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair to allow bar and restaurant access, while the film will play shortly after nightfall.Ticketsgo on sale 9am Friday December 9.
