Tom Cruise has continued on his tirade of, well, acting like Tom Cruise on the Mission: Impossible 7 set.

Back in December, an audio recording was leaked to The Sun in which Tom Cruise directed an expletive-filled rant at crew members failing to abide by coronavirus social distancing measures.

The rant was targetted at crew members that were failing to abide by the standard six feet apart rule encourage by health authorities. Cruise reportedly blew his top after noticing two staff standing less than a metre away from each other whilst observing a computer screen.

“We are creating thousands of jobs you motherfuckers!” he yelled, before threatening to terminate the employment of those involved. “I don’t ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don’t do it you’re fired, if I see you do it again you’re fucking gone. And if anyone in this crew does it — that’s it, and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever fucking do it again.”

Honestly, despite the volatile execution — we can’t fault Cruise’s argument. Who then continued to remind those on set of the uncertainty of the film industry in the time of coronavirus, and the implications that ignoring coronavirus safety guidelines could have. “If we shut down it’s going to cost people fucking jobs, their home, their family. That’s what’s happening,” he added.

The Sun has since published a follow-up report, alleging that Cruise’s “nightmare” pedantic behaviour has not diminished since the December incident.

“A lot of us would love to cut our losses and leave things for a while, then pick up when we can,” an insider told the outlet. “But Tom is completely obsessed with finishing and nothing will stop him.”

“He’s the most determined person. It’s impressive, but a nightmare.”

The production of Mission Impossible: 7 has undergone a series of roadblocks amid the coronavirus pandemic. Production was delayed in October when 12 people on set in Italy tested positive for coronavirus. It resumed the week following and returned to the U.K. in December.

Following the spike in coronavirus cases in the UK, resulting in stage 4 lockdowns and restrictions, Tom Cruise and the Mission Impossible producer had the cast and crew relocate to The United Arab Emirates. A move that has sparked anxiety amongst crew members as to when, or if, they’ll be able to go home after filming is wrapped up.

“Now many of the production team, especially the more junior staff who aren’t on big salaries, are up in arms and just want to go home,” The Sun reported.

“This is starting to feel like a real nightmare of a production — and of course, a lot of that is totally unavoidable,” an insider told the outlet.  “But the hope was that after the pre-Christmas rows and delays, filming out in the UAE would give the crew more freedom to make headway without holdups.

“It feels like everything is against us at the moment and morale is really down.”

Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled for release this November, god willing.
