Ever wondered what the top songs are on Tinder in Australia? We’ve got you covered with this countdown of the top 100 Tinder dating songs.

Two in five young Aussies say that having the same taste in music is one of the most important factors when it comes to dating. Think about it: how many times have you seen Post Malone or Ariana Grande come up as someone’s Tinder Spotify anthem, tiredly exclaimed, and swiped left? Where’s the variety people?

Well the alternative to triple j’s Hottest 100 countdown is here – Tinder’s 100 Dating Anthems. It’s about time they had some competition anyway. The 100 songs were the most featured songs pulled from ‘Anthems’ Aussie Gen Z’s use in their Tinder profiles (18-24 year olds). Tinder also commissioned a survey of 500 single 18-24 year old Aussies to configure the list.

The date reveals some intriguing findings. You’re all clearly spending a lot of time on TikTok. The top five tracks in the 100 Dating Anthems all went viral via the ubiquitous social media platform.

You may be bumping uglies with fellow Aussies but you’re not really doing it to the soundtrack of your compatriots. U.S. artists dominate the top 100, filling the top 10 (with respect paid to Canadians The Weeknd and Drake). Only one in six artists are homegrown but hey, at least The Veronica’s ‘Untouched’ made the list at number 59 (now there’s an ironic song title).

In terms of genres, hip-hip and rap are where it’s at, with over 40% of artists in the top 100. The artists who appeared most were The Weeknd with four and Juice WRLD with six.

There were also some surprises that had us reeling. ABBA’s ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!’ may be a wonderful karaoke tune but for the bedroom? It seems too jaunty.
