Performing her 33rd season, legendary violinist Midori Goto will be joined by associate artist and pianist Ozgur Aydin.

Midori first made her debut at 11 years old with the New York Philharmonic, and is well-recognised internationally since she performs close to 100 concerts worldwide every year. She has recently been appointed as an artistic associate of the Peabody Institute for its 2016-17 season, and has also founded a series of non-for-profit organisations and other youth-directed projects, one of them being Midori & Friends, which aims to bring musical education to underprivileged children in partnership with the city’s public schools.

Midori’s collaboration with Ozgur includes the recording of works by Bloch, Janacek and Shostakovic in 2013 on Onyx Classics. Their Sydney show will consist of violin performances of many Viennese works, while they transport us through the musical city of Vienna: home to Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Johann Strauss and Schoenberg.

Midori will perform at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday June 26. Tickets via their website.
