The Voice Australia winner Lachie Gill says that he hasn’t been able to get in touch with his mentor Rita Ora since the show ended.

The Voice Australia winner Lachie Gill says that he hasn’t been able to get in touch with his mentor Rita Ora since the show’s finale in May.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, Gill revealed that since he won the show in May, he hadn’t heard anything from his on-screen mentor. Ora, apparently,  “flew back to LA the day after the show finished,” and has not contacted him since.

“I am going to be completely honest with you, I have not spoken to her since the show, which maybe is a bit sad for everyone, but also I totally understand that she is one busy woman,” Gill told the Herald Sun

Gill seemed pretty understanding of his mentor’s commitments, though, “I have not really bothered to try and reach out and contact her because I sort of know that she would have a pretty busy schedule.” It does strike him as weird that Ora has been unreachable especially since she raved about his performance during the show.

Gill, in fact, was on Ora’s team and walked away with a whopping $100,000 in prize money at the end of the show, along with an exclusive contract with Universal Music Australia.

When he won the show, Ora said of Gill and his performance: “You did all of this. Australia, thank you, thank you, I love you. I feel like this is just the beginning for you. Congratulations. I’m so happy for you I can’t breathe!”
