The highly-anticipated Friends reunion special is finally set to air on Thursday, and those of us in Australia luckily don’t have to miss out.
That’s right, we will get to watch Friends: The Reunion at the same time as the rest of the world, with only one catch: it’s not on free-to-air in Australia.
Yep, although it isn’t being screened on any of the major TV networks, there are still a couple of (legal) ways for us to tune in.
Those who have Foxtel can check out the action on FOX8 from 5:02 pm AEST on Thursday, May 27th, while the reunion will also drop on steaming service Binge at the same time.
Foxtel has flagged that the broadcast is expected to go for almost two hours, so make sure you have your popcorn at the ready.
As for the rather random timeslot of exactly 5:02 pm, ABC News reported that the stream would be triggered by the global premiere in the US, which will be at 12.02 am local time there.
As reported by Variety, the special will focus on Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer as they return to the show’s original soundstage at the Warner Brothers Studio lot in California.
Along with the main cast, it will also feature appearances from some of the show’s guest stars including Tom Selleck (Richard), Maggie Wheeler (Janice), Reece Witherspoon (Jill Green), Elliott Gould (Jack Geller), Christina Pickles (Judy Geller), Larry Hankin (Mr Heckles), Thomas Lennon (Joey’s hand twin) and James Michael Tyler (Gunther).
As if that wasn’t enough, a number of celebs like David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harrington, Mindy Kaling and Malala Yousafzai are also set to cameo.
