The World Of Women’s (WOW) Film Festival is set to light up screens and conversation acrossvarious venues in Sydney. An initiative of Women In Film & Television NSW, the festival will highlight the contribution and dynamic work of women in film through screenings, forums and competitions.
Now in its 21st year, the festival has been working to celebrate and recognise women in film, internationally and in Australia. Desiring to stimulate a discourse on the access, participation and recognition of women in this medium, the festival has curated a program to celebrate of what’s been achieved and provide opportunity for the up-and-coming.
With eight curated programs of short films, masterclasses galore, panel discussions, screenings and more, WOW is offering film aficionadosand professionals an opportunity to learn and collaborate. In addition, the segment ‘On The Table’ is an opportunity for a playwright to have their play read out by professional actors in front of a live audience.
Gillian Armstrong, an acclaimed director of film, has been announced as the festival’s patron, lending her talents, drive and insight to the tone of the festival.
