One of Sydney’s most creative theatre companies, MopHead, have joined forces with award winning director Anthony Skuse for a Latin American hit play by playwright José Rivera.

The House Of Ramon Iglesiaexplores the chasm between two first-generation Puerto Rican immigrants and their Americanised son, Javier. Javier finds his parents embarassingly indistinguishable from the other Puerto Rican immigrants in their neighbourhood, and his parents, Ramon and Delores, find his lack of respect for their ethnic heritage and traditions increasingly painful. The play prgoresses to reveal that Ramon and Delores are not the fools that Javier believes them to be, and Javier is not the prince he portrays.

Full of passion and South American flair,The House Of Ramon Iglesia is a probing portrayal of family, culture and identity.

The House Of Ramon Iglesia is playing at the Old Fitz Theatre from Tuesday May 12 – Saturday June 6.
