Mixing original works with Shakespearean classics and international plays, The National Institute Of Dramatic Art has a diverse month planned for its annual June production season.

At the starting line isThe Olympianswith a timely premiere on Saturday June 11. The original work by Stephen Sewell dips into themes of national identity and power on the world stage on the eve of the Rio Games, running (not a pun) for a week until Saturday June 18 at NIDA’s Parade Theatre.

Meanwhile, German playwright Marius von Mayenburg’sEldorado comes to NIDA’s Space Theatre the same night, directed by NIDA grad Imara Savage. A Sarah Goodes-directedScorchedruns from Tuesday June 14, and Shakespeare’sA Midsummer Night’s Dream andTwelfth Night are being reimagined from Tuesday June 7 to Wednesday June 15 at NIDA’s Playhouse and Atrium Theatres, respectively.

All performances feature a guest director and an all-student cast and crew.
