The 9th Possible Worlds US & Canadian Film Festival has announced the coming-of-age comedy 1897 as this year’s opening film.

The festival will showcase 18 new films in total over the course of ten days. The films, half of which are Canadian and the other half from the US, will be screened alongside complementary drink receptions, filmmaker Q&As and film trivia night.Ricardo Trogi’s1987will open the festival a day before it opens on Canadian screens. The rest of the festival program will be announced this Friday July 4.

The 9th Possible Worlds US & Canadian Film Festival opening night is Thursday August 7 and will run at Event Cinemas George Street until Sunday August 7. For more info and bookings jump online.
