As the Australian government fails to protect its citizens by providing enough rapid antigen tests, the grocery delivery app SEND has stepped in to help Aussies get their hands on RATs quickly and efficiently.

RATs are an essential item in the time of COVID-19, as necessary as groceries for many households. With lengthy queues at testing clinics around the country, the demand to test for the virus at home has massively risen.

That’s why from today, SEND is stocking RATs alongside its usual range of supermarket goods for speedy delivery. And we really mean speedy: you could have a RAT at your front door within just 10 minutes thanks to the delivery app.

It’s a massive boost for people in Sydney and Melbourne with thousands currently isolating either as a positive case or a close contact due to the increasing spread of COVID-19.

SEND currently delivers to a number of inner city locations in both cities, including Fitzroy, Collingwood, and Richmond in Melbourne, and Newtown, Redfern, Glebe, and Paddington in Sydney (you can find the full suburb list on the app).

By providing RATs, SEND hopes to relieve at least some of the stress and anxiety everyone is experiencing trying to locate a test for the virus. They currently stock RATs at $21 for a two-pack, with a modest $3 delivery fee. When restaurants have been spotted on UberEats hawking RATs for ridiculous prices, that’s good value.

And there’s no need to worry about anyone buying up the whole supply of RATs on the app – individual orders will be capped at 15 units per person. Using SEND also alleviates the worry of having to leave your house to purchase a RAT.
