The first teaser trailer for the hugely anticipated live action adaptation of Disney’s The Lion King is finally here. The film features the voice talents of Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Beyoncé, John Oliver, and more.

The film is the latest in a slew of live action remakes of classic animated Disney films. Directed by Jon Favreau who was also in the directors chair for the live action remake of The Jungle Book, the film is set for release on July 19 2019. Check out the trailer below.

Disney first announced the all star cast for the remake in November 2017 to much excitement. Leading the massive lineup of voice actors, James Earl Jones will return as the voice of Mufasa, whom he also played in the original animated picture.

The soundtrack to the film is expected to feature recordings of classic songs from the original by Beyoncé and the other actors. Elton John is said to be working on the soundtrack as well, reworking his classic renditions of tracks like “Circle Of Life” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”.

2019 is set to be a massive year for Disney, with their streaming service set to debut and feature live action remakes of The Lady And The Tramp, as well as new Star Wars spin-off series. There’s also a live-action adaptation of Aladdin due out in May next year.
