eBay has somehow managed to get its hands on a bunch of PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles and it’s giving them away to some lucky Aussies.
So the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X has been out in Australia for a few weeks now and, well, every single console was snapped up faster than the speed of light.
The unicorn-level rarity of these new next-gen consoles has resulted in utter chaos in the gaming community. And by that I mean people reselling PS5 consoles for ridiculously jacked up prices, scammers using photos of PS5 consoles to scam desperate folks out of their money, and for some reason, people blowing vape smoke through their Xbox Series X.
So in short, it’s virtually impossible to get a PS5 or Xbox Series X until 2021. However, there is one new avenue to get one of those shiny new consoles, albeit one that’ll require a good chunk of luck.
eBay has somehow managed to get its hands on 24 consoles – 12 PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles – and are giving them away (along with a bunch of games and accessories) between 10:00am AEDT Thursday, December 3rd, and 11:59pm AEDT Sunday, December 6th.
The catch? You have to sign up to be an eBay Plus member and anyone who is already an existing member isn’t eligible.
This isn’t a big deal because you can just put your name down for the free 30-day trial, enter the comp, and then cancel the membership before eBay charges you $49.

Given how bloody difficult it is to get a PS5 and Xbox Series X in Australia, this eBay giveaway may be your best bet at this point but you really don’t have anything to lose at this point so you might as well go for it.
And hey, if you managed to get your hands on one of those PS5 consoles, we’ve got you covered in regards to the best games to play, though chances are you’ll end up playing Cyberpunk 2077 since that’s the one game everyone has been waiting for.
