Essential Independents: American Cinema, Now is an upcoming film festival running from Tuesday May 17 – Wednesday June 8 at Palace Cinemas nationwide, including Palace Verona and Palace Norton Street.
The screenings will include 32 features from a collection of independent US filmmakers spanning the documentary and narrative forms, all carefully curated by director Richard Sowada. The films are split into five categories, and will include the Australian premiere of Time Out Of Mind starring Richard Gere, old favourites such as John Cassavetes’ Shadows, and a newly restored print of Kelly Reichardt’s River Of Grass.
