After what feels like an aeon of teasing, the Jackass miscreants have finally announced the highly-anticipated fourth film, Jackass Forever, is coming.

The fourth film in the Jackass franchise was first by Johnny Knoxville in an interview with EW way back in 2018, with Knoxville remaining relatively vague about the project. “It’s not like we’re saying no. If we did do a new one, we’d have to bring in some new younger guys – just to bring some fresh blood into it. But it’s possible,” he said.

The project was teased once more in December last year, after Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O were hospitalised after filming a stunt for the film. The group’s troubled Bam Margera, shared a video confirming, “The second day of filming Jackass and already Steve-O and Knoxville are hospitalised by jumping on a full-speed treadmill with band equipment, like a fucking tuba.”

Bam Margera was subsequently fired from production in 2021. Following his firing, director Jeff Tremaine filed a restraining order against Margera, with the court granting that Margera must stay a “minimum of 100 yards away from Jeff, his wife, and children.”

Prior to the issued restraining order, Margera had taken to Instagram to state that the Jackass members had mistreated him, amid struggling with bipolar disorder. He said, “My family – Jackass, has betrayed me, rejected me, abandoned me. Not all of them. I love all of them and they love me back.”

Now we have official confirmation that Jackass 4 is nigh. In a social media post, the series confirmed the title and release date of the next instalment. The film’s official title has been revealed as Jackass Forever, and is set to arrive in cinemas on October 22, 2021.

“We’re back! A bit older and a lot grayer, but definitely not the wiser,” a post on the official Twitter account read.
