In a perfect example of art imitating life, Larry David apparently engaged in a screaming match with his former friend Alan Dershowitz over the lawyer’s ties with Donald Trump.

In a move that could be straight out of a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode, Larry – a staunch Democrat – apparently butted heads with Dershowitz over his political leanings while at a grocery store near Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

“I was worried that he was going to have a stroke,” said Dershowitz, who confirmed the incident to Page Six.

According to the Harvard law professor, Larry “screamed” and “yelled” at him over his ties to the former US President after Dershowitz tried to instigate a conversation with the Seinfeld co-creator.

“I saw you. I saw you with your arm around [Former Trump Secretary of State Mike] Pompeo! It’s disgusting,” David reportedly said to Dershowitz in the store.

“It’s disgusting. Your whole enclave – it’s disgusting. You’re disgusting,” he added.

In an interview with Page Six following the blow-up, Dershowitz took aim at Larry’s political beliefs.

“While he was writing bad jokes, I was helping to bring about peace in the Middle East,” Dershowitz told the publication. “What has he done?”

“Larry is a knee-jerk radical,” he continued. “He takes his politics from Hollywood. He doesn’t read a lot. He doesn’t think a lot.”

“It’s typical of what happens now on the Vineyard,” he added later. “People won’t talk to each other if they don’t agree with their politics.”

Larry David recently made headlines after it was discovered he had been uninvited to Barack Obama’s 60th shindig due to COVID restrictions.

Of course, being Larry David, he couldn’t be happier over the turn of events.

“When he told me I was eighty-sixed from the party, I was so relieved, I screamed, ‘Thank you! Thank you!’ He must have thought I was insane. Then I hung up the phone, poured myself a drink and finished my crossword puzzle.”
