MAFS star Tamara Djordjevic has revealed that she was previously diagnosed with ADHD, but decided not to medicate for the condition.

The 30-year-old reality star told Daily Mail Australia that she was diagnosed with the condition as a kid and was “given prescription medication” to manage her symptoms.

“I got diagnosed when I was like 10, being a female is very different to being a male when you have ADHD,” she said.

Tamara explained why she refused to take the medicine. “Unless it affected my day-to-day life hugely, which it doesn’t, having ADHD does make me a little bit crazy. I’ve learned to embrace it, I like it.”

“When I am really heightened by my ADHD I know what to do about it. I feel like if you’re medicated for it. Like my brother is, you’re so mellow… I miss you being so out there.”

ADHD, otherwise known as attention deficit disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder that can cause a number of behavioural problems, including having trouble paying attention, making impulsive decisions, and being overly active.

Tamra – who rose to fame after appearing on season nine of MAFS – recently slammed the show and insisted that it “should be pulled off air”.

“I can tell you right now, I would not go to the Logies to support Married at First Sight,” she insisted. “I think it’s disgusting, I think that television show should be pulled off air, or at least made dramatic changes before someone takes their own life.”

Tamara continued by explaining why she was making such a “big statement.”

“The manipulation, even after the television show, of ‘you’ll get this, you’ll get that… we’ll give you this endorsement’,” she revealed. “People just either forget, or they don’t give a shit because they want clout, fame, whatever it may be, so they’re like ‘yay, go MAFS, vote MAFS‘. It’s just really sickening to me, and disappointing.”
